Medical Journey of Douglas Ratner

Douglas Ratner, MD, served as Chairman of Medicine and Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at two leading New Jersey hospitals, Overlook Medical Center and Jersey City Medical Center. He created the Wealth from Health™, the Environmental Housecall, and Telemedicine: Healthcare in Your Home programs. Not only has Wealth from Health been nationally recognized for innovation by both the American Essential Hospitals Association and the Hearst Foundation, but these groundbreaking research and health delivery systems have helped over 4,000 patients in total and have been replicated throughout the United States. Furthermore, these programs inspired the Governor of NJ to create and appoint Dr. Ratner as chair of the Disease Management Study Commission to implement some of these programs on the state level.
